We created a parent item with attributes for different sizes, but when creating an invoice the parent item itself is not appearing in the item list. Only the variants seem to appear. Is that expected behavior?
Yes, that is expected. The parent item acts only as a container for all variants and does not appear directly in billing documents.
When you create variants from the parent item, each variant becomes a selectable item with its own price and cost. Those variants will appear in invoices and other billing documents.
